Making Gardens Grow to New Heights in New Places
Dec 7th, 2009 by Hazel
Sometimes our space and our aspirations just don’t match up. For example, my mother still teases me about a morning before I headed off to kindergarten when I insisted that a large yellow blanket, several picture books, and a few of my favorite toys should all be stuffed into my tiny plastic book bag. My mother kept trying to explain to me that there just wasn’t enough space… and I kept maintaining that there had to be a way!
Perhaps I was just waiting for the newest product at Cedarstore.com! Not all who love to garden have room for rows and rows to plot their plants, or an area large enough for a swing arbor and gazebo. But, our new Skyscraper Garden allows you to produce more vegetation than a 24 square foot plot, in a 4” x 6” hanging garden!
Strapped for space? Simply put: this is your solution. The patent pending design of our Skyscraper Garden is an easy-to-assemble kit that allows you to grow vertically vining plants either against the wall, or as a free standing unit. Literally, a 4” x 6” panel hanging from the side of your home (taking up almost no horizontal space) will produce more edible plants and beautiful flowers than a plot taking up 24 square feet! The Skyscraper Garden is the perfect addition for any urban gardener, as well as any school or other public space looking to add some greenery.
It is obvious that adding vegetation or even growing your own food is a great way to give back to the planet. But, that is certainly not where the Skyscraper Garden’s environmentally friendly attributes end. The vertical design greatly reduces the amount of water needed to tend your plants, and the entire kit can be used season after season, year after year. Reduce, Reuse… and Grow! Please, let all of your overwhelming vegetation grow in a space the size of a kindergartener’s Seseme Street backpack! (Okay, it is quite a bit larger than my childhood book bag but…you get the idea.)
So, while you may have thought that Cedarstore.com was the place for gardeners with plenty of space for porch swings, patio groups, and picnic tables; as well as cabanas, pool houses, and pergolas, don’t forget that the urban or small space gardener is just as valued! I might add, however, that the Skyscraper Garden would attach quiet well to a sunroom or gazebo. So, while perfect for someone without a lot of space… it’s actually kind of perfect for someone who is just looking to conserve their space as well! A product from Cedarstore.com that almost everyone can find a use for? I know. It’s amazing, but true! So, come on in and shock everyone with an expansive garden in a tiny space!
See you Outside!
